Gallup Wrong Inconceivable

The “Inconceivable” part is for all you Princess Bride fans. Gallup’s 2013 70% Disengagement Data is being described as inaccurate by Forbes Magazine contributor Jack Zenger. Jack is also the co-founder and CEO of Zenger Folkman. I don’t know if the analysis by Gallup is misleading.
I have used the Gallup employee engagement statistics for years and never stopped to think about the negative impact of such labeling even if it were true.
Jack’s viewpoint reminded me of a long forgotten a story of a teacher being asked why her students performed so much better than the rest of the school. She gave all the credit to the principal of the school who had the foresight to include the students amazing IQ scores next to her student’s names on the attendance sheets. The numbers this teacher based her expectations on were actually their locker numbers. Score one more for Pygmalion. http://goo.gl/1CYYKb
