Quick fixes vs Real Results

quick fix vs real results

I have been privileged to create many training events for world-class teams over the last 15 years.

I have worked hard to make sure the content has been focused, interactive, educational but for most people the lessons are largely forgotten in a matter of weeks or maybe months.

This was not because the content was lacking or that the effort from participants was insincere, but that there was never a systemic way of continuing the conversations – a process for following through on the ideas introduced.

Not only do most groups make little progress in short term training, but they become increasingly resistant to similar training in the future.

What is missing is not in the training, it is not something missing in jobs, coworkers, bosses, spouses or even the participants themselves.  There is something missing in the process.  What’s been missing is a system for follow-through.

To be effective the energy, ideas, support and direction need a critical mass to sustain the interactions.

Left by themselves any single team would be left surrounded by other teams who neither understand nor appreciate the critical importance of a collaborative leadership system.

When the entire facility is involved there is not only additional support but a healthy level of competition to be the most effective in applying the process.
